Scams in Australia.

I have been looking for a room to rent in the city, which is near to RMIT University, and convenient and access to, possibly everywhere, clinics, dentists, restaurants, asian groceries, cinemas, tram and train stations, you name it!

I applied to many ads I found online.
None replied except for one, which stated that he is in urgent need of someone who rents his apartment.
It was unbelievably cheap, for $100 pw in the CBD of Melbourne!
As gullible as I can be, I sincerely replied and ask for more information and had a good conversation with him.

Luckily and thankfully, my friend Eugene Ng came in time and told me about scams that has been happening in Australia which uses similar stories.

I believe that piece of invaluable advice he gave me, is a blessing in disguise.

COINCIDENCE???

The man below is even worse. For I did not reply him, he sent the exact same email,
'JUST IN CASE" I have not received it.

Amazing II

I received a sad news yesterday. That was the first call from baby. Baby said he cannot come to Australia to study anymore. Tears rolled down my cheeks. I wasn't ready for this, as we have been planning on his arrival and others more. The news hit be badly.

Then, baby went out to talk with his dad. He is not my dad, and I don't have time to bug him or his dad forever. So, I'm sure this is my final chance, to put all my faith to believe in Jesus. I did my final prayer on this matter, said that I'll leaving everything onto Jesus, and that I don't have to worry about anything already.

True enough. I called baby after a moment. And guess what, he can come study in Australia!

Oh Lord Jesus, thanks for answering my prayer.

I'm sure alot of people will think that this is ridiculous, God doesn't answer prayers in minutes. Well, firstly, I have been praying on this matter. Secondly, miracles do happen.

Clara's Fried Spaghetti

As university students, we tend to have a lot of leftovers. Rice, noodles, spaghetti, etc. If we are to eat them again, we would probably feel bored of eating the same food we had the day before. But, we can't just throw them away! It's just wasting - bad habit.

So me as a university student, I totally understand how it feels to see leftovers in the refrigerator. So, here are 5 easy steps to leftover food.

I found this recipe in the internet and altered and customised it abit to suit my taste buds! In this recipe, I use leftover spaghetti.

Ingredients:
- olive oil
- 1 tbs of butter
- chicken breast meat (optional: leftover sausages, ham, etc)
- 2 small onions, chopped
- mixed vegetables
- half packet of spaghetti
- pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 tsp of sugar (optional)
- 4 tbs tomato puree
- BBQ sauce

Serves: 4 person

Directions:

1. In a large pan, heat oil and butter over medium high heat.
2. Add onions and meat and saute until meat is cooked. Add mixed vegetables.
3. Add in tomato puree and sugar.
(Reason to adding sugar is that tomato puree tends to be a little bit sour)
4. Add in spaghetti and mix until the tomato puree evens out. Add salt and pepper to taste.
5. Serve immediately.
6. Squeeze in some BBQ sauce for additional taste.

Hillsong Conference+Cafe Notturno

Tuesday night, went to Hillsong Conference with some of my friends in MRS Berwick.
It was fun, lotsa praise and worship.
I personally think that Planetshakers I joined few years back in Sabah was nicer.

Ended our night at Cafe Notturno at Lygon St.
Sorry no nice pictures except for the half eaten cake above.
We were hungry and craving for dessert.
I ordered Tiramisu. A very normal yet delicious cake.
However, it could be a little runny/watery if not made properly/nicely.
Their Tiramisu was fantastic.

The actual plan was to go to Brunetti but we were too late.
I heard they sell fantastic cakes!
Would love to try them one day.

Australians are nice and friendly people.

Today I saw a car broke down in the middle of the road. Of course there were cars behind his. Quickly the two man from the car behind, without hesitation, showed initiative to help the poor driver.

They two man had a talk with the driver for a sec or two, den started helping by pushing the car. The person who helped was an old man and another man was around his 40s. Soon, there were many cars stuck behind the jam.

The thing that really amazed me, is that given the traffic jam behind caused by the car that has broken down, not a single honk was heard. There were no sense of frustation or anger in the drivers. All of them just waited patiently.

Soon the traffic was moving again. It would have been a touching picture if I managed to snap it with my phone. I witnessed all these in the bus, at the traffic light. It showed that how patient and understanding people can be.

If this were to happen in Malaysia:

A man's car breaks down in the first lane of a two lane road.
The man comes out of his car and takes a look at his car engine.
He then pulls out his cellphone to call a mechanic.
Traffic jam starts here.
People behind the line will start honking in no longer than 5 minutes.
As car slowly passes in the second lane, they would express their anger and frustation to the unlucky driver, by either showing disgusted faces, or throwing vulgar words at him.
No only did his car break down, but he has to endure all unfriendly/mean faces from people.
The man continues to wait for his mechanic to reach in his broken car.
The public shows no sense of pitiness to the helpless man.

I believe there is always kindness and goodness in people.
The hectics in the city covered people's hearts. They couldn't see themselves in people's shoes. All they think of is themselves. They are so full of themselves that they always want to be on top of people. In which, they become as selfish as a fox.

If someone would just come down and give a little hand, they would all be home in no time.

Cinderella and her two step-sisters.

I found this on facebook which is totally hilarious.

Well, in Cinderella the two step-sisters have been re-coloured as shown below:

Mind you the two 'step-sisters' are princesses! I heard from the LIVE broadcaster that the head-piece of the the princess (in peach colour) was designed by a well-known designer (I couldn't clearly hear the name).
Yes! Finally, my make up skills can be put into practice again.

It has been quite sometime since I last slapped make-up on people face. Reminds me of the movie "All's Well Ends Well 2011".

Slapping make up on people's face:

I certainly am interested in making people look and feel pretty. Although I do not have any paper qualification YET, but I did learn alot of make-up basics from senior make-up artist.

While working at Anna Sui, I am happy to help our customers try out our products. In order for them to have confidence in our product, we have to do the basic touch-ups so that they can see the obvious difference our product can make.

During my work at Anna Sui, I have tried make up on people of all walks of life, from students to housewives, Office Ladies (OLs) to Air-stewardess.

My boss wanted to transfer me to 1U branch where there would be more different customers, but sad to say, due to the hectic studies I declined the offer as well as presented my resignation letter.

However, that did not stop me from my interest in make-up. I still helped my friends with their make-up and touch ups.

These are a list of cosmetics that I would highly recommend:
1. Anna Sui Moisturising Rich Powder Foundation
Once I tried this, I have been using this product ever since. Despite it being powdery, it provides moisture to the skin.
2. M.A.C. 6 Mystic Cool Eye Shadows
I love this product because, with just a simply 6 colour palette, you can simply just mix and match the colours and product a day/night look. It works like magic. Plus, the colour stays.
3. Sui Lip Gloss - 700
The colour that gives an innocent-looking lip.
4. Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara
This product have a volumising and thickening effect on the lashes. Best part: it doesn't smudge.
5. Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner
The best pencil eyeliner I've ever used. The colour stays, doesn't smudge, and can be easily removed. Best part: the price is cheaper compared to the really branded ones, and can be found anywhere. This eyeliner pencil is a must have for me. I've introduced this to some of my friends, which in fact I have received positive feedback and good review on the item. You may wanna go for brown colour cause the black would be really really dark black. I have both in my cosmetic pouch =)

Anna Sui products ranges from cosmetics to skincare and fragrace. I have tried alot of these products, and I dare to say that I am mostly satisfied with the cosmetics products. We usually sell more cosmetic products (Base&Make Up), if compared to the skincare products. If you ask me, my personal sales ratio of cosmetic:skincare is 10:1. Honestly, I seldom do explanation and promotion to my customers on our cleanser/toner, etc. I guess one main reason is that Anna Sui provides a wide range of colour selection and different bases (matte/gloss/shimmer) in their make-up products. Moving up next would be fragrance. The most popular perfume that I have sold during my time was the Flight of Fancy. It is a combination of fruity+floral smell. On average I could sell 1 bottle a day.

My personal favourite would be Dolly Girl.

Early Winter.

It's the EARLY WINTER season in Melbourne now.
It's already snowing in the mountains already.

Something I've noticed during early winter season:
Birds have stopped flying around in the sky. Usually they would come and in pairs and stay under the Sun. Today, I saw a number of birds hidden in the branches of trees.

Anyway, I wanna share some ideas in keeping yourselves warm:

1. Pretty Ponchos

Why ponchos?
Loosely knitted ponchos have breatheable hole which are ideal if you don't wanna get stinky hot! It basically wraps around your body to keep you warm.
Ponchos are good because if can also be worn as light jackets. Even if you're not going out, you can still wear ponchos to relax and watch TV.

2. Warm Boots

Normal fashionable boots are BIG NO-NOs during winter. What else do they provide besides fashion? NOTHING!!
In fact, your toes will freeze and harden and you will find in painful to walk although you are wearing your best comfortable sneakers.
We need a pair of warm boots. WARM. Winter boots are different because of their inner lining. They are usually made out of wool. Wool, since the olden days has been well-known of the warmth they provide. It is a smart insulator because it keeps you warm without overheating your body/feet. (The fact is that people in the desert wears thin wool clothing to keep the cool from steering away from the body. This is because in the wool fibre there are tiny pockets of air that provides breathability.
Bonus point: It is mold resistent, which means no extra care needed for your boots!

UGG is a good brand of winter boots. It is made of out sheepskin and lightweight. Besides, it doesn't keep your feet sweaty, which will lead to Hong-Kong feet!

Better keep yourselves warm!
